About Us
Before we look at how to maximise your wedding consultation, I’d like to formally introduce myself. I’m Ali, the head wedding planner and managing director of Mr Flavour Events.
Myself and my team have hosted and worked with couples all across the UK and abroad! I feel it is really important you get to know a little about me, if you are going to trust myself and my team on something as special as your wedding. So here’s a little FAQ about me and Mr Flavour:-
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS AND HOW DID YOU GET TO BE A WEDDING PLANNER?
So I’ve been working in events for the past 15 years. I started my career launching Mr Flavour as a themed events company specialising in Arabian events with shishas, bellydancers, Middle Eastern catering and Arabian decor. My first clients were actually nightclubs asking me to put shishas onto their terraces, then universities asking me to decorate their venues to corporate companies asking me to put on teambuilding days. I was then headhunted by Centerplate, an American events company who wanted me to event manage the Royal Warranted Event Caterers, Heritage Portfolio in Edinburgh. During this process, I gained invaluable insight on prestigious catering covering events such as the Royal Garden party and many prestigious weddings in Scotland.
After a year and a half of working with Centerplate, I missed the full control of running my own company, so with my new found expertise, I launched Mr Flavour Drinks & Mr Flavour Weddings to the bow of Mr Flavour Events. Weddings, were by far my favourite type of events and the insights I gained set me up on the organisation and logistics wedding suppliers need to deliver high end events.
I ran my first full wedding in 2016, an intricate fusion wedding (my favourite!) in Manchester, where the couple had guests attending from all over the world and had a range of cultural traditions as well as modern twists they wanted to combine in their special day. We had tables names sketched with famous sportspersons, an aerialist drinks reception and a 15 piece live band as standouts for the wedding!
Fast-forward to 2023, my passion for weddings has had me create a super organised portal system, designed to save time for our couples, have full transparency every step of the way and provide confidence to our couples that on their wedding day, the team at Mr Flavour are in their corner and will do their utmost to make it the most special day imagineable!
WHY DO I NEED A WEDDING PLANNER?
Here is something most wedding planners wont say…You might not! Sometimes you may just require some advice and I don’t mind offering just that. It’s why your consultation is so important. If Mr Flavour can’t offer a service I feel provides value to our couples, then I won’t offer it.
A good planner will help you save time, money and stress. We talk through your ideas and advise on how to make them a reality. We look at your budget and advise how to stay on budget and sometimes how to maximise that budget to your needs.

Your Consultation
As a wedding planner, I know that the wedding consultation is a crucial step in planning a wedding. It’s a chance for the bride and groom to meet with me and discuss their vision for their big day. I’ll explain what a wedding consultation is, the benefits of having one, how to prepare for it, and how to get the most out of it.
A wedding consultation is a meeting between the bride and groom and their wedding planner. During this meeting, the couple and the wedding planner will discuss the couple’s vision for their wedding, their budget, and any other details that need to be addressed. The wedding consultation is an opportunity for the couple to get to know their wedding planner and for the wedding planner to get to know the couple.
Benefits of a Wedding Consultation
There are many benefits to having a wedding consultation. One of the most significant benefits is that it allows the bride and groom to communicate their vision for their wedding. This is important because it helps the wedding planner to create a wedding day that is tailored to the couple’s preferences. Additionally, the wedding consultation is an opportunity for the couple to ask questions about the wedding planning process and get advice from us.
Preparing for Your Wedding Consultation with Mr Flavour
If you’re preparing for a wedding consultation, there are a few things you should do to get ready. First, you should have a rough idea of your budget. This will help your wedding planner to recommend vendors and services that fit your budget. Second, you should have a general idea of what you want your wedding to look like. This can include things like the colour scheme, the style of the wedding, and the overall vibe.
Essential Questions to Ask Your Wedding Planner
During your wedding consultation, it’s important to ask your wedding planner questions. This will help you to get a better understanding of the wedding planning process and what to expect. Some essential questions to ask your wedding planner include:

How do you manage vendors and services?
What is your approach to wedding design?
How involved will you be in the wedding planning process?
Questions We Will Ask You

What is your preferred method of communication?
Do you have any special requests or requirements?
Wedding Planner Questionnaire for Bride and Groom
In addition to the questions we ask during the consultation, we also provide a wedding planner questionnaire for the bride and groom to fill out. What is your vision for your wedding day?
What is your budget for your wedding?
What is your preferred wedding style?
What is your preferred color scheme?
