The relationship

A FTSE 250 name that keeps coming back.

Softcat is one of the UK’s largest technology providers, with teams from Glasgow to Dublin to the south coast.

When they wanted to turn an ordinary office day into something people would remember, they came to Mr Flavour. Then they came back, and back again. Three separate roadshows over more than two years, each a different experience, each delivered to the same standard in every office.

The build

A branded bar, built for the office floor.

Every Softcat activation runs on a branded 3m mobile bar, finished and dressed to sit naturally inside a working office, from a fifth-floor suite on Creechurch Lane in the City to Universal Square in Manchester.

Branded frontage, branded cups, printed menus. Delivered, set up and broken down inside the working day, around the rhythm of the office.

The campaigns

Three roadshows, three experiences.

01 · Milkshake bar

The first roadshow, and the one that set the tone. A four-strong menu of theatrical, immersive milkshakes built for wow factor, with sustainable glassware throughout, served across Manchester, London, Marlow, Whiteley and Bristol.

02 · Barista coffee bar

A branded barista coffee bar for the larger offices, two coffees a head across a tight two-hour window, rolled out in London, Manchester and Marlow.

03 · Smoothie bar

A wellness-led smoothie roadshow scaled across as many as ten offices in a single campaign, from Glasgow and Newcastle to Dublin, London and the south coast.

Logistics

The hard part is the logistics, and that is the point.

A national roadshow lives or dies on delivery. Every office is a different building, with a different loading bay, a different lift and a different floor. A fifth-floor City suite is not a ground-floor unit in Manchester, and a Dublin office is a sea crossing from the rest.

Mr Flavour plans each site on its own terms and absorbs all of it, so from Softcat’s side the experience is identical everywhere: the bar is simply there, set up and ready, when the office breaks.

Consistency & speed

The same drink, on every floor, in every city.

Consistency is the quiet test of a roadshow. The smoothie in Newcastle has to taste like the smoothie in London, and the coffee in Marlow has to match the coffee in Dublin. One menu, one method, one standard, carried by the team into every office.

And it has to be fast. Serving hundreds of people inside a two-hour lunch window means every drink leaves the bar in under sixty seconds, with serve number three hundred as good as the first.

Delivery

Set up by lunchtime. Sometimes in two offices at once.

The windows are tight and immovable. The bar has to be built, stocked and serving by the time the office breaks for lunch, then packed down without disturbing the afternoon.

On the busiest campaigns that has meant two offices, in two cities, on the same day, each with its own team and each held to the same brief. That is the line between a supplier and a delivery partner.

Engagement

Theatre, not just refreshment.

These are alcohol-free bars, but they are not quiet ones. Each serve is built for engagement, the milkshakes especially, theatrical and immersive, designed to pull a queue and start a conversation.

For Softcat’s focus days and office gatherings, the bar is the thing that gets people out of their seats and talking.

National reach

From Glasgow to Dublin to the south coast.

Across the three roadshows Mr Flavour has served well over two thousand drinks to Softcat’s people, with as many as 275 served in a single London afternoon. Ten offices, hundreds per site, the same finish every time.

Considered to the cup

A premium finish, sustainably served.

An office treat should not look like it came from a vending machine, and it should not cost the earth either. Across the roadshows the serves are finished to a premium, photogenic standard and presented in sustainable glassware rather than throwaway plastic, so the bar reads as a genuine event rather than a hand-out.

That care runs through every layer of the programme. The menus are designed for the audience, the branding is considered down to the cup and the printed menu, and the whole experience is built to feel generous. It is the difference between simple refreshment and a moment people actually talk about back at their desks.

Where it works

Built for focus days, gatherings and everything between.

The roadshow format flexes to the occasion. For Softcat it has powered focus days and office gatherings across the business, the kind of internal moments where the goal is to get people out of their seats, into the same space, and talking to one another.

A barista coffee bar suits a morning of meetings, a smoothie bar fits a wellness day, and a theatrical milkshake bar turns a regular afternoon into something memorable. Same team, same standard, matched to whatever the day needs to be.

Why an agency

Why a drinks agency, for a national campaign.

Booking ten offices yourself is ten briefings, ten suppliers, ten things to go wrong. Booking Mr Flavour is one. One event manager who owns the whole campaign, one menu signed off once, one look applied everywhere, one number to call.

For an internal team running a national programme on top of the day job, a single accountable partner is the entire point.

The result

The proof is the repeat booking.

The clearest measure of an event is whether the client books the next one. Softcat has booked three, each rolled out across more of the business than the last. For a company that could choose any supplier in the country, that is the endorsement that matters most.
